Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world. Located in Dubai,
United Arab Emirates, it is one of the mesmerizing constructions you
would ever see in your life. It got inaugurated in January of 2010. Burj
Khalifa stands 2,717 ft. tall and has 163 floors. The estimated cost to
construct this epic building was $1.5 billion.
2. Taipei 101, Taiwan
Also known as Taipei World Financial Center, this magnificent
construction is located in Xinyi District of Taiwan. It has been
especially designed to withstand earthquakes and typhoons. Taipei 101 is
1,670 ft. tall, with 101 floors.
3. Shanghai World Financial Center, Shanghai
Located in Pudong, Shanghai, China, it was designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox. It stands 1,614 ft. tall, with 101 floors.
4. International Commerce Center, Hong Kong
Located in West Kowloon, Hong Kong, it finally got inaugurated in 2011. It has a height is 1,588 ft., with 108 floors.
5. Petronas Towers, Kuala Lumpur
These are also known as twin towers. This construction remained to be
the tallest in the world from 1998 to 2004. It has a height of 1,483
ft. (without antennas), with 88 floors.
6. Nanjing Greenland Financial Complex, Nanjing
Located in China, the Nanjing Greenland Financial Center completed in
2010. Built by Adrian Smith, it stands 1,476 ft. tall, with 89 floors.
7. Willis Tower, Chicago
It was previously known as Sears Tower. This
once-tallest-building-in-the-world completed in 1973 was renamed to
Willis Tower in 2009. It has a height of 1,451 ft., with 108 floors.
8. Guangzhou International Finance Center, Guangzhou
It is also known as Guangzhou West Tower. Located in Tianhe District
of China, it got completed in 2010. Total height of the Finance Center
is 1,435 ft. It has 103 floors in total, used for different purposes.
9. Trump International Hotel and Tower, Chicago
Designed by Adrian Smith, it is named after one of the richest people
in the world – Donald Trump. It stands 1,389 ft. tall, with 98 floors.
10. Jin Mao Tower in Shanghai
This tower is situated in the Lujiazui area of the Pudong district of
Shanghai, China. It means “golden prosperity building”. It houses
multiple offices and the uber-luxurious Shanghai Grand Hyatt Hotel.
Built in 1999, it stands 1,380 ft. tall, with 88 floors.
